Description: ROLE ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ANALYST
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Deployment, management & tuning of Enterprise Systems Management tools primarily from BMC Software BMC Control M software deployment, tuning and optimisation BMC Control M software scripting and scheduling BMC Control M Support BMC Patrol software deployment, tuning and optimisation BMC Patrol software Operational monitoring etc BMC Patrol Support BMC Perform/Predict software deployment, tuning & optimisation BMC Perform /Predict capacity planning BMC Perform/Predict Support Exploitation of product capabilities through scripting
10 % IT SYSTEMS STRATEGY, ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN Ø Involvement in System Architecture & design meetings.Ø Production of Enterprise Systems Management architecture designs and deployment designs.Ø Product & design research through seminars, journals and eventsØ Review Systems Architecture & design documents.Ø Business & IT process reviews & consultancy.
5 % IT SYSTEMS STAFF SUPERVISION & TEAM MANAGEMENT Ø Supervision of juniors.Ø Required to stand in for Team Leader/Manager when he/she is on leave/sick.Ø Represent IT Systems at meetings.
10 % IT SYSTEMS SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT Ø Liaison with IT Suppliers including installation engineers, maintenance engineers, supplier account managers etc, primarily BMC but relationships with BMC partners and other suppliers will be necessary.Ø Hold & Chair regular supplier meetings where necessaryØ Manage supplier SLA'sØ Discuss & negotiate supplier engagements, contracts, Service Levels etcØ Engage suppliers during product evaluations/feasibility studies etc
5 % IT SYSTEMS CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Ø Manage relationships with IT Systems customers. Directly this is IT Service Delivery and indirectly it is all other areas of IT and all areas of the business such as Operations, Finance, Business Development etc.Ø Provide customer stats, reports as necessary.Ø Represent IT Systems at customer meetings.
25 % IT SYSTEMS PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION Ø Procure BMC products as required to meet business & project demandsØ Produce detailed installation/implementation documentationØ Build & install Enterprise Systems Management solutions using BMC software suiteØ Maintain ongoing plan of BMC Control M, Patrol, Perform/Predict and associated components (such as POM, PEM, Explorer, SR etcØ Installation and tuning of ESM softwareØ Evaluation of supplier hardware & software as necessary.Ø Scripting of Control M & Patrol using appropriate scripting languages.
